Overview:
Mirror NYC is looking for an inspired, passionate and experienced mid to senior level Graphic Designer to conceptualize, design and oversee digital and print solutions.
As a creative agency and production house specializing in brand activations, each project is totally different from the next and requires both strategy and creativity at each step along the way. The Graphic Designer will work alongside a team of creatives to conceptualize and ideate the overall direction of projects, and will spearhead the 2D design needs within digital and print mediums. The right candidate is both a self-starter and a team player. The Graphic Designer has an in-depth knowledge of graphic design trends, styles and layout techniques to execute projects across all brand touch-points. This includes editorial design, website design, mock ups and photoshopping of 3D rendered spaces and objects, and product packaging. We work in traditional, experiential and digital mediums and expect strong creative skills across all. The Graphic Designer works closely with the 3D Design Team, Print Production, and Account Services and reports to the Experiential Director.
A Day in the Life…
Oversee design projects: from conceptual mood boards, to visual mock-ups and asset creation, all the way through the delivery with final print production files
Strengthen brands’ identity within the designs through usage of collateral, pattern-making and layout design
Creation of all print and digital graphics for pop-ups, activations, retail displays, etc. including: signage and way-finding, branded swag, environmental graphics, social and web assets, packaging, printed collateral
Proposal deck design and copy editing
Photoshop 3D renders for spatial mock ups, product mock-ups
Social media management – create assets/edit photos for our social media presence
Website management – understanding of Squarespace platform to manipulate and update Mirror NYC website when needed
Liaise with Account Management, Production and Design teams to ensure goals and deadlines are met
What You Bring to the Table…
Strong understanding of typography, color, and layout
Passionate about all things design and in tune with current design trends
Excellent communication skills and confident when presenting work
Basic copywriting and copy editing skills
Strong illustration skills across various styles
Understanding of best practices to prep for print
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to absorb and respond to constructive feedback and change course of project quickly if needed
Ability to multitask – balance and prioritize workload effectively
Ability to work overtime when needed to complete time-sensitive projects
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree in Graphic/Communications Design AND/OR have the ability to demonstrate robust experience working in the field
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
4+ years’ proven experience developing professional digital and print materials as a Senior Designer, Graphic Designer or similar role
Strong portfolio of completed design projects demonstrating creativity and understanding of layout best practices
Fluency in Google Drive Workspace (Slides, Sheets)
Fluency in Squarespace; Knowledge of HTML & CSS
Fluency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
Knowledge of SketchUp is a plus!
Knowledge of After Effects is a plus!

A Day in the Life:
Utilize your strategic and technical skillset to lead your own portfolio of client projects across pre- and post-sales phases
Interpret client requests across a variety of print and fabrication-related needs; have the technical experience and product knowledge to consider and strategize on material solutions and production methods that are sensible within budget and time constraints
Perform outreach to vendors to collect pricing in order to craft proposals
Formulate pitch decks and proposals inclusive of budgets; calculate item/project pricing in a manner that ensures positive outcomes for Mirror in the event proposals are approved
Deliver exceptional customer service through the efficient and accurate turnaround of briefs and proposals; anticipate needs and provide options when applicable
Communicate deadlines and required assets from client and work to retrieve all in a timely manner; download and organize files and provide a detailed brief to production inclusive of all project specs and scope details once project is approved
Follow up with production to ensure all deliverables are on target and logistics have a plan to be handled
Provide on-site oversight during installations, both to be a face for the client, but also to ensure scope is installed according to client expectations; have the ability to think on your toes and provide solutions in the event plan B’s need to be executed
Constantly exercise strong written and communications skills to succinctly and efficiently converse with clients via e-mail, phone calls and text to clarify asks, provide solutions and provide follow through, as needed
Utilize impeccable organization skills and sharp attention to detail juggling a multitude of projects, clients and vendors at once
Keep a handle on costs per project at all times to ensure profitable, successful outcome; reconcile comprehensive billing packet upon job completion, submit to accounting department for client invoicing
Research, locate, vet and onboard new vendors, as needed
What You Bring to the Table:
Previous experience in and knowledge of the print production (large format and digital/offset), custom fabrication and experiential design and events world; knowledge of substrates and their uses a must

Their strict attention to detail is critical to the internal execution and end vision of the client. These individuals can navigate through a site check with a client, provide feedback internally, offer solutions, but also are able to see a project through those critical hours of final installations – for lack of better terms – they bring the project home!

A Day in the Life:
Work directly with production, liaise with project managers, account reps, and or design leads to obtain specific information corresponding to projects at hand or with clients on site
Ability perform site surveys with clear accurate documentation and feedback to team
Assist with production work schedule with an ability to plan and coordinate supervision on site with short notice
Observe proper material handling from start to finish on installations to prevent damage to final production materials
Maintain strict quality standards as a reflection of our product and services while keeping budgets on the forefront
Juggle multiple projects at various phases
Keep inventory of tools and or materials as well as keeping installation kits prepared at a moments notice
